ECS Service Connect support
I'd like to confirm if Bottlerocket supports ECS Service Connect. I don't see any mention of it anywhere.
When I try running a task with Service Connect, the task get's stuck in the provisioning state and the Bottlerocket logs show: ServiceConnect Capabilities: No service connect capabilities were found for Appnet version="", image="". Looks like that log is coming from the ecs-agent
From this reinvent talk, it says Service Connect uses Envoy under the hood which I don't think Bottlerocket supports https://github.com/bottlerocket-os/bottlerocket/issues/1078.
Any alternatives you've considered: Reverting to just using Cloudmap
It looks like we do not currently support ECS Service Connect. As far as I understand we will need to add some CNI Plugins to the Bottlerocket image in order for the ecs-agent to take advantage of that feature.
