Disney+ hotstar unable to play disney + content

Your Environment

  • Add-on name: Disney+ Hotstar
  • Kodi version: 19 (matrix)
  • Operating system version/name: Kali
  • Using from country: India

Describe the bug I'm able to view the hotstar content completely fine, but when I try to open disney + content, kodi crashes. The logs show the following error:

 ERROR <general>: CCurlFile::Stat - Failed: HTTP response code said error(22) for https://hses5-z.hotstar.com/videos/hotstarint/1...

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Try to play disney+ content
  2. kodi crashes

Additional context Even tho im running kali, I'm using the correct kodi package from the raspberry pi repository

@iMro0t any update on this. I am getting this issue with only 4K content..FHD works fine. Just set the quality to Ask and select 4K while playing to get this issue.

This probably means the listed Qualities are probably not correct.

There are multiple options for 4k. If you select 4k DV (Dolby Vision) and if it's not supported then it can crash Kodi. The same applied to HDR10. Select the option in which Video Resolution + Video Codec + Audio Codec is supported in your device. Currently, there is not an easy way available to detect from Kodi's api. So you have to manually check that based on your device.

@psycoxer if you are still facing this issue then provide more logs to investigate in detail.
