Open port to connect

Open mweiss-econ opened this issue 2 years ago • 4 comments

Hi, I just installed the new version with Screenshare and had trouble connecting. The solution was to manually open the port 5901 over the protocol UDP (having peeked in your code ;) ). I am working on an OpenSuse linux distro. Now it works, thank you so much! (by the way, that is also the trick to use Screenshare with the official app on linux, using wine)

Hi, thanks for reporting. Could you specify what you mean by "opening" the port? You could share the steps that solved the problem here for others that may have the same problem.

Sure, I meant to define the port as trustworthy in the suitable firewalld-zone (the zone should of course be corresponding to the connection across which the tablet shall broadcast to the computer) I used the program firewall-config to do this, but I assume that there are many ways to do this

Thanks for this hint. For me it was TCP on port 5900.

What error messages would indicate this issue? I'm getting "private key file is encrypted" when connecting in rmview via USB, but ssh works fine.
