Storing fewer than 50 snapshots?

In the documentation on the site it mentions this:

"Due to a hosting limitation 50 snapshots will be kept. Given snapshots are released near daily that will generally cover over two months."

But it seems to keep significantly fewer than 50. Often it does not seems to even store one month of snapshots, since repos seems to die within a month pretty often. For example, right now I'm on 2011-11-17 and that has been dead for a while already.

Have this changed? Is it intended or a bug or something else?

Looking at http://download.opensuse.org/history/ it seems to be 20 snapshots now.
