ACF Field updates are not shown in the compare way.
Simple History logs the change but does not show any visual data of the change. Is that intended? In the screenshots below I have made a new page and then edited it by adding a link in to an ACF link field. The event is logged with the meta data but no change data is shown visually.
If I change the title or the excerpt or the content, they get shown visually in the "compare screen".
Simple History version: 2.41.2 WP Version 5.7
I would like to add diff support for ACF but it turned out to be more difficult than I thought to implement, because of repeating field groups, drag and drop, and similar things. You are correct that the changes are saved but I'm not sure how to present them in a nice and logical way. If anyone have any idea of a good solution feel free to contribute! :)
@bonny How about adding support for those field types that do not represent a challenge? There are a good number of them that are basically text (Email, Number, Text, Text Area, URL, Link, etc.) Maybe you can add a disclaimer with the supported fields. I think it would be a great addition and would cover a good amount of the most common cases.
