It would be awesome to be able to import and export collections easily

+1

I just introduced Genghis to the startup I work for and they're loving it. The only problem is there's no data export so I was considering adding CSV/JSON export myself.

If that's the only problem you've got with Genghis you don't know it as well as I do :)

If you implement export functionality, I happily accept pull requests. Otherwise, it'll wait until it becomes the most popular feature request and/or I fix a few more pressing issues.

Well, that and you can't see the list of servers if there's a problem with one of them (wrong login details for example) - Happy to contribute when I can though :)

@xiy Wait, really? That should have been fixed with the latest release. Are you running the latest?

v2.1.5 via Gemfile, mounted in a Rails app.

Logs say:

Mongo::OperationFailure - Database command 'listDatabases' failed: (errmsg: 'need to login'; ok: '0.0').

And the server list page hangs with the loading gif.

Ahh. Yeah, that's still a bug. I thought you were talking about the invalid hostname/port issue.

+1 Sometimes I need to copy a document to other application and it would be nice to have it in valid JSON.

I realise this is 2 years old but I too love Genghis, unfortunately I really want to copy/paste JSON.

I'd look into it but I am not a ruby developer so it would be pretty difficult for me.
