Tried with master; same problem seems to exist on 0.15 CPAN version.

Am I missing something?

It's actually a bug in Catalyst::Plugin::Session. There's a fix for it, and it should be released soon...

I couldn't actually find the non-CPAN home of Catalyst::Plugin::Session. I take it the fix will be hitting CPAN soon though?

The repo is in catagits. But the original fix was incomplete. Hopefully a CPAN fix will be out soon, or you can fall back to 0.32.
