Issues with BattlEye (Rainbow Six Siege)

Open toboggan7 opened this issue 1 year ago • 2 comments

I recently tried to launch Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege off an Ext4 formatted hard drive, and encountered an error from the anti cheat blocking loading of the game itself.

I've reported this to BattlEye themselves, but I'm making an issue here in case anything can be done to resolve this here. The driver in use was 0.71, the latest stable release, and I have not compiled the driver myself.

For testing purposes, the games Unturned and PUBG: Battlegrounds are free and both include the anti-cheat.

After further testing with the driver, games with Easy Anti-Cheat also seem to fail with the error "Failed to get the process' path". (First spotted in Fortnite, would not recommend for testing due to switching between EAC and BE at random. Test in free game Brawlhalla.)

Windows also fails to open programs as an administrator through the context menu, giving error code 0x800704b3 (launching through cmd.exe with admin works).

I believe these issues may be linked due to the path given by BattlEye - should separate issues be opened?

I will try to investigate this. Thanks for the information.

Hello, it's been a few months and I was wondering if there are any updates to fixing this issue.

Hello, I have the same issue with Delta Force, it seems Anti Cheat does not initialize and it does not let the game start.

My guess is, that because the driver assigns a drive as an external drive, anti-cheat does not load on it, if it assigns the letter and makes the type of Ext4 drive the same as what the btrfs-win driver does, then it works for all games too.

I see, is there a fix for us on the user end of things, or would we have to wait for an update.

As far as I am aware we need to wait for an update or even a change of the project structure to make it more like a logical drive instead of an external drive.

I did search a lot and tried many different things with no success, as long as the drive is not like a normal drive for Windows, new anti-cheats are not working on it

have the same pb.

ext4 drives cannot run exe as Admin

EDIT: found on the winbtrfs repo: just start the WebClient service and does the trick
