Some symlinks are not followed

I have a ubuntu dualboot setup beside win8.1 the directory tree has the following symlinks in the root directory

D:\bin -> D:\usr\bin
D:\lib -> D:\usr\lib
D:\lib32 -> D:\usr\lib32
D:\lib64 -> D:\usr\lib64
D:\libx32 -> D:\usr\libx32
D:\sbin -> D:\usr\sbin

but while opening the symliks ; D:\lib enumerates the directory tree of D:\usr\lib while other symlinks do not enumerate the directory tree of their respective targets
