NPE With adoptOpenJDK

upon trying to launch the jar with AdoptOpenJDK the program crashes with a Null Pointer Exception even when compiled from source with AdoptOpenJDK. but runs fine from oracle's JRE even though I compiled it with AdoptOpenJDK AdoptOpenJDK found here https://adoptopenjdk.net/ error
