Automatic AI based ALT-Text (Accessibility)

The following is more of a "Find a sponsor for the costs of operation" than a development challenge.

In bsky you can write an Alternate Text (alt="jada, jada") to increase accessibility for images. This is good! But not everyone is using it. Therefore my idea:

How about a Setting in the user-profile: Use AI to generate alt-tag If set to yes let the AI write a suggestion if a user does not write an alt-text by himself.

I have played around with Bard with quite ok-ish results so far.

I am aware that API calls to the AI will cost money or already do. Therefore, you would need a sponsor that has no profit interests.

P.S. Interesting Finding while playing around with alt-tags for bsky. You can send 1.000 characters per image... The implications of this, I will not discuss in public ;-)
