Unable to connect paired device (BT speaker)

Open kovacslt opened this issue 2 months ago • 1 comments

This is an old behavior of Blueman, which causes some annoyance. I can easily pair a BT speaker, and connect to it, using it, etc. After turning BT off, and later turn it back on, the connection of a paired device fails all the time. However, if I don't forget it, and perform a search for BT devices, after doing the search, the reconnection succeeds. Would it be possible to invoke a search for devices automatically upon enabling Bluetooth?

Thanks in advance.

I assume this is nothing blueman specific, but it is the same, e.g., with bluetoothctl, correct?

So you do see the device, commit a search, which changes nothing, as you saw the device already, and that makes the connection work? Is it relevant if the search is still running or does the connection also work after stopping it?

"Is it relevant of the search is still running or does the connection also work after stopping it?"

Usually the search still runs when I click connect, and doing so the connection works. When I accidentally suspend the laptop with BT connected to the speakers, upon resume the speakers are automatically reconnected always without performing a search beforehand. Now I tried to connect without performing a search, and Blueman reports "le-connection-abort-by-local". I tried this now multiple times, and the result is just the same. Performed a search, but now waited until it finishes. The connection was successful after the search. Once a connection succeeded, the reconnection succeeds without performing a search within a timeframe. At the moment I'm not sure what is the time that takes the phenomenon to appear, but reconnecting in one minute surely works without searchin in prior... Do you have an idea what can cause this?
