Safari crashes on Windows

Open muismedia opened this issue 11 years ago • 5 comments

When I use Safari 5.1.7 on a Windows 7 machine (both laptop and desktop) the browser crashes, even with your standard demo on http://blueimp.github.io/jQuery-File-Upload/ Sometimes it happens immediately after clicking on "add files", or when you have dragged a file in the dropzone, and sometimes when you have uploaded a file and leave the browser window, for example when "alt-tabbing" or clicking on another window/application or when you move your mouse over the menu bar of the browser.

It also happens on my own server, where everything works fine on every tested platform and browser. Safari on a Mac has no problems

Safari on Windows is an abomination and also probably abandoned by Apple. I'll leave this issue open, but unless there is a clearly detectable problem with the library itself, I won't invest any time investigating bugs in Safari on Windows anymore, it's simply not worth it.

Tested it on Win7, no issue. I suggest you try re-installing Safari 5, there might be something corrupted with your current setup.

Did you check your computers for viruses or Trojan ? I tested on a physical computer and two VM and did not encounter such an issue.
I test my sites regularly on various browsers including this one and I never encountered any crash issue with blueimp code.

Same issue here. Safari 5.1.7, Windows 7 professional 64 bits. Safari chashed sometimes after send a file sometimes when you change the windows focus out of Safari.

I just use Safari on windows as an easy way to make webs for mobiles without the need of a Mac just for this, and honesty this is annoying.
