loadImage function doesn't seem to work properly in ipad/iphone for large images.

I'm trying to render a canvas for which I'm using loadImage function. The code works fine for most of the browsers and for android too but for ipad/iphone it's not working in case of a large image around 12-15 MB or larger. Is there any limit for size/dimmension or is it a ios specific issue?
