Better deposit validation

In the thread below a user sent an accidental invalid deposit data into the eth2 deposit contract which resulted in loss of funds.

How can we test our deposit logic better? make sure the user sends tokens on the relevant network and so on. This is a crucial point.

One option is to use our proxy contract for the deposit and hook some validation oracle to it.
