android intent to get new receive address

Open mahalamobile opened this issue 9 years ago • 6 comments

hi, guys am looking if its possible to through an android intent get a new receiving address. The idea is from our app to call a "fetch new address" and return this to our app. we can then deposit btc to that address such that we can give users bitcoins as a reward. Please can you help

thanks

This is a really interesting idea - thanks for the suggestion. We'll look into if it's feasible and how we could go about implementing it.

excellent thanks. Yes some android wallets have implemented BIP 70 but have not taken to publishing it to "master" see https://github.com/bitcoin/ bips/blob/master/bip-0070.mediawiki

Need a BIP for "request new receive wallet address". Thats it!

If you are to implement as a new feature any idea on ETA?

By the way for an example please see (ios) https://github.com/voisine/breadwallet

have successfully implimented this below to get a new address... URL scheme:

breadwallet supports the x-callback-url http://x-callback-url.com specification with the following URLs:

bread://x-callback-url/address?x-success=myscheme://myaction

this will callback with the current wallet receive address: myscheme://myaction?address=1XXXX

the following will ask the user to authorize copying a list of their wallet addresses to the clipbaord before calling back:

bread://x-callback-url/addresslist?x-success=myscheme://myaction

Not as far as I can see, no. It would have to be done with Intents/Deep Linking.

Thanks

When would you be able to advise if this is on the development roadmap? It may appear to be a simple request for enhancement but would want it to be fully supported. The "business case" is there may be many reward type programs that would want to load btc for various reasons. There may also be reasons to "load" an account based on BTC purchase. Thanks again for your consideration!
