I will check the documentation of potplayer, maybe it is possible.

Yeah, I find it, thanks a lot! Here is author's setting:

  1. Download the attachment in Anime4K_HLSL.zip
  2. Extract all the files to the C:\Program Files\DAUM\PotPlayer\PxShader directory (the installation directory may be different, change it yourself)
  3. Open Potlplayer, right click video area Video -> Pixel Shader ->Reload Pixel Shader list
  4. See the figure below( Video -> Pixel Shader ->Post-Resize Pixel Shaders ->Stack ). If there are no problems in the first three steps, you should be able to see these items starting with Anime4K_ (I have a set of duplicates here, you should have no duplicates when setting them)

I don't see HLSL in the latest release (v1.0 Candicate 2). Is it possible to do the same with GLSL?

I don't know. You can try it!

I put GLSL into the shader folder, however the PotPlayer did not detect it even after reloading the shaders. BUT, I notice that if I change the file extension to .txt, it shows up.

Now the problem is I don't know if it actually works or not, whenever I clicked "Playback Info" (CTRL +F1), the resolutions are still the same as the original.

It is the same case for the HLSL version, no resolution changes in the playback info. How do you tell if it works?

Same here. I put all HLSL files into my 'PxShader' folder and set the combination in potplayer, but I can't tell any difference when I enable it.

同样在这里。我将所有HLSL文件放入“ PxShader”文件夹中,并在potplayer中设置了组合,但是启用后我看不出有什么区别。

Confirmed that renaming *.glsl to *.txt doesn't work for PotPlayer. Otherwise, 1.0 is worse than 0.9, lol.

HLSL from v0.9 Beta: HLSL GLSL from v1.0 RC2: GLSL

No luck trying to get it working with potplayer. I have tried both the v0.9, the v1, and the current development repo hlsl files. None seem to have any upscaling effect. I have disabled MadVR prior to testing. Any ideas?

My test file is Haibane Renmei, 1080p, not sharp but very high bitrate 2400kbps, viewing on 4k monitor.

Thank you.

1st, download v0.9 HLSL, not 1.0 GLSL, 2nd, right click potplayer->Video->Video Processing Settings->Surface format->chang to 32-bit floating point. Enjoy.

How to use anime4k's latest version on potplayer?

xpirad avatar Mar 09 '20 13:03 xpirad

I successfully use 0.9beta version on potplayer by changing to 32-bit floating point. but how does using latested 2.0 version on potplayer? GLSL>OpenSL HLSL>Driect3D Does PotPlayer support OpenSL ???

hatsukikoucha avatar Mar 17 '20 02:03 hatsukikoucha

Actually, potplayer does not support GLSL. So if you want to use anime4k, use HLSL, maybe in the 1.0 or 0.9(beta) version.

aierlma avatar Jul 27 '20 08:07 aierlma

Copied HLSL 0.9 into PxShader folder. They do appear in Post-Resize filter list. But switching them on doesn't do anything. Changing Surface format into 32-bit floating point won't have any affect either.
