Request: option in catalog grid to show configurable stock qty total of all children

Would it be possible to create an option to "show total stock"?

If a product is configurable + it has children + doesnt store its own stock

Then sum-up the children stock qty and show the total

Wooiuld be really great sometimes, if you want to adjust prices or compare tot qty of the product (not specifically the size of the product, i.e. compare the red and the blue shirt on the whole)
