Romaji writing doesn't work

Hiragana to romaji writing & katakana to romaji writing doesn't show the character I'm supposed to recognize.

There's an empty space on the left side of the screen where I'm guessing the character should be shown. If I long-click on the empty space I get a popup which shows the character along with various statistics, so I can still do the quiz but it takes a while.

A few characters do show up consistently like へ (but not べ and ぺ) and つ in hiragana, and ヘ, ニ and エ in katakana (haven't tested all hiragana). All characters that show are too big to fit and cropped a little. Landscape mode doesn't work either.

That sounds like a font issue on your phone. Maybe try to download a Japanese font and set it as custom font in the app settings?

Yeah it seems it could be a font issue. I've tried Meiryo from Windows but that seems to be the same as what I have now (with the same few characters showing). MS Mincho shows a few more characters (べぺ)
