Not working with newly createad NextJS React 18 app

When i try to install i get an error that this requires react 16 and i have react 18 - can this be updated?

i even used legacy option to install after that i was getting an error like

Warning: React.jsx: type is invalid -- expected a string (for built-in components) or a class/function (for composite components) but got: object.
