maybe set element style with javascript, so that all styles are !important. could stop pages from hiding the modal with their own CSS, either intentionally or accidentally. will also help...
could show mimetype as a little badge next to the filename, and automatically(?) convert any webp images to png using canvas element. this could also be done for blob urls
