`[REQUEST]` Please bring back the `steps` from 1.7.9

Open sapioit opened this issue 2 years ago • 7 comments

Hi!

Version 1.7.9 had steps of 5%, so if I clicked to the right of the selector of the slider, it jumped by 5%, instead of getting to exactly the percentage I clicked on. I found that functionality very useful for small touchscreen screens, and mouses with high DPI, because you only had to click on the left or the right of the slider's selector, to change it's position, and for fine-tuning you could click the slider's selector and drag it to exactly the percentage you wanted.

Please bring that back, as a feature, even if we need to toggle it on after installing the app.

By the way, I use the app on a laptop with Windows 7 x64, if it's relevant.

please! I am still on 1.7.8 because of this.

And the setting for it could simply be a checkbox in the window of the app. Alternatively, you could make the icons on the left and right of the slider into buttons which move the slider by 5% if within the limits of the slider (between 0% and 100%).

I still have the versions v1.7.9 and v1.7.15 on my PC, but make sure to scan them with an antivirus, just in case, if you plan to use them.

At v1.7.9 is annoying for mouse user. I have to mouse down + drag .

Thats why i added . "Jump to click". It gives much more freedom. I go to desired level with 1 single click. I dont have to click 10 times to go from 0 to 100.

I can add disable jump to click. But i have to write settings.ini to disk.

You don't need to write the settings to disk, if you make only clicking the icons to the left and to the right of the slider work in increments of 10, and the slider work normally.

And one more reason we're asking for such a feature is that not all people use a mouse to find precisely the percentage they want. Some people use a touchpad, others a joystick (i.e. the one from the middle of the keyboard on Thinkpad laptops, or the one on handhelds like the Steam Deck, or even using apps which convert controller's joystick movement into moving the cursor like a mouse), or apps which allow us to use the arrow keys or numpad numbers to control the cursor (though the last method is more for the rare cases when no other control method is available).

You don't need to write the settings to disk, if you make only clicking the icons to the left and to the right of the slider work in increments of 10, and the slider work normally.

Or you could add a + and a - sign to the sides of the number, so people can click on those to increase or decrease the number.
