AFAIK, this has been done on purpose. See those issues as well.

Yes, the official release page of lvtk still shows 1.2.0 as the latest release: https://github.com/lvtk/lvtk/releases

A release candidate of lvtk 2.0.0 is available. Maybe this PR could now be revisited.
