Huawei MRD-LX1 problem

Open xandro0777 opened this issue 4 years ago • 3 comments

Trying to save data from a phone with badly broken touchscreen so I use the testpoint method to get into EDL mode.

I start edl with ./edl.py rl dumps --genxml , do the tespoint thing, plugin the cable - and nothing :( The command is waiting for device, gives hints and prints one dot after another. Nothing is in the system logs. I am pretty sure that the phone is in EDL mode actually, the LED blinked red ones and the screen is on but black.

This is on Debian Bullseye - any idea?

ADB and other types of connections work well with other phones.

TIA

Are you sure the device goes into edl mode ? can you see the qualcomm usb pid 9008 ? It could be as well that they disabled it by efuse.

Thanks for the hint. No, definitely don't get any USB message at all when in EDL mode, neither in system logs. Will double check USB ports and libusb version etc

I read https://labs.taszk.io/articles/post/huawei_kirin990_bootrom_patch/ and it might be the case that this hit me although I was pretty sure the phone wasn't connected to any network since the beginning of June 2021 ?
