Isn't the cursor your laser pointer dot? ;-) So this feature request is about changing the cursor on button press?
AFAIK, nobody has tried this as of yet. As it talks to an X11 server, you probably need https://www.xquartz.org/ installed and build Gromit-MPX on MacOS. It _might_ work.
Seems the dependency libappindicator is missing in both Homebrew and MacPorts :-/
Thanks for the contribution! How many steps would suit your use case? Maybe we can simply increase GROMIT_MAX_UNDO?

Found [this](https://stackoverflow.com/questions/3247412/how-do-i-create-keyboard-shortcuts-programmatically-in-kde/3306979) (10y old :-/), there is a kwriteconfig utility that might be useful, but could not find any API so far. Some script example [here](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ryanpcmcquen/linuxTweaks/master/.kdeSetup.sh).
If you could come up with kwriteconfig commands to set/unset key bindings, that'd help a lot! For the second, click-through, issue, please open a separate report.
