I have to mention, that this issue is already several months. Haven't time to report and hoped it goes away and starts working, but it's not. Finally reported it.

Hi @edmundlaugasson , thank you for reporting this! After review from the team and it was reported on the browser extension, the team did put together some fixes for both Browser and Desktop. Can you please test again with https://github.com/bitwarden/desktop/releases/tag/v1.31.3 and see if this is still an issue for you?

Noticed at repository, that already there is also updated. So far works but need to test in action for some time. Having both versions: Arch repo and AppImage. Anyway - thank you for quick response and action!

I'm having this exact issue on Windows, v1.31.3. The "Never" setting persists, but isn't respected.

Same persists v1.31.3 in Linux as well. Besides, this forced relogin regardless of "Never" setting, applies to browser extension also.

Same issue on the Windows desktop app with

Version 1.31.3
Shell 16.0.7
Renderer 96.0.4664.110
Node 16.9.1
Architecture x64

First I thought the locking only happened when switching accounts, but it happens even if I am only logged in to one account, close the app and reopen it.

Background: During day-to-day work, I only ever want to enter my Windows password at boot (or after unlocking my desktop) to access my Bitlocker-encrypted system hard disk. After that, every additional password prompt in any app is just very annoying. I always felt that Bitwarden allowing me to never lock the vault was a huge benefit, and now it's broken. 😭 Please fix this!

I am also having this same issue, on 1.31.3, on macOS 12.0.1 (Monterey). Setting the timeout to never, exiting BitWarden and relaunching, it asks for the master password again.

Same problem... both from app and edge component. Although set to "computer restart" or "4 hours", when the browser is closed and reopened, the safe is locked. Re-entering the Bitwarden password each time the browser is used is equivalent to having to enter the password for the site I have to visit, this makes you lose the usefulness of having Bitwarden.

Still happens with 1.33.0.

I point out that it still happens currently with the browser extension. With "never" it was solved for me, but setting the minutes or computer freeze the error persists. Each time the browser is opened, regardless of the setting, the password is required.

In my case Bitwarden as browser extension or independent app does not respect "never" setting and will always ask password after closing either browser or app.

Same issue on Android, Firefox Nightly, Bitwarden Version 2022.10.1
