Merge pinocchio/spec changes to the main line?
Some of the changes (like the Python 2.7 compatibility) has been fixed in the new 0.3 version of pinocchio, but others that you implemented may still be backported. What do you think about porting all those fixes back to pinocchio and making your spec depend on pinocchio, adding "spec" tool on top of that in a similar way "specloud" is build: https://github.com/hltbra/specloud ?
Jeez, I have no idea why this never popped up on my radar, so sorry! :(
I'd be happy to contribute changes back to the mainline, but only if there's some reasonable expectation that upstream can find the time to release them and/or release any future changes. But it sounds like you're fully running Pinocchio from its github repo now -- when I set up Spec, Pinocchio looked pretty dead in the water, thus the fork.
I'm focusing on other projects right now but would be glad to help if there's anything I can do that's not super time consuming.
Re: Specloud, I'm not sure if what they've done (and merged back into pinocchio, apparently?) and what I've done can be reconciled easily, but you might have a better/more neutral point of view on that anyways -- be interested in your thoughts.
Any comments? What is the current status of affairs?
