Needed it simplify deployment. Maybe could be of use for someone else, don't know.

I am no longer using statsdaemon and thus I will not continue working on this pull request. If you don't want this PR, feel free to close it. I've checked "Allow edits from maintainers" if you'd like to continue working on this PR.
