Bug: <Error:Timed Out> occurs when using eqmac, and the application doesn't respond at all

Open nothinkman opened this issue 1 year ago • 5 comments

Describe the bug Some error happened I think during the update to v.1.8.2, and ever since, the application is unusable. It is not responding at all when I launch the app, and it says : Error : Timed out. I tried reinstalling the older versions already, I tried restarting the coreaudiod, through the manual on the eqMac website, typing the codes on terminal and stuff, but it still won't solve any problems.

Steps to Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behaviour (feel free to change the placeholder as you need): Just launching the app

Expected behaviour Application won't respond at all, with the error message : Error : Timed Out

Setup information:

  • Macbook M1, Scarlett 2i4
  • XLR
  • Ventura 13.0.1
  • eqMac Version : tried many of them

I am having the same Issue. Also causes YouTube to stutter and audio is motor boating. Sometimes after 1 or 2 minutes of play it clears up. Other times quoting eqMac and not using it is the only solution.

App: v1.83 Driver: v2.51 UI: v5.0.5 (remote) Mac mini, M1 Somona 14.2.1

Same. The app was working fine until a few hours ago. The app crashed when I opened a Plugin in the "Extra Effects" tab. Since then, I have gotten the time-out error code frequently. Sometimes the app turns to a darker colour scheme, text disappears within the app, and the app sometimes even turns blurry.

I have tried all the suggested solutions.

App: Both 1.8.3 and 1.8.4 Mac Studio M2 Max Ventura 13.4

It seems like this is an issue with Apple Silicon devices specifically.

This makes the app unusable and does not bode well as I bought it this afternoon.

Update: I reinstalled the app a few times and wiped the drivers to do a full restart. Now that it's reinstalled, the drivers are missing and the app isn't requesting to install them. If I go into eqMac settings, it says "Driver: V0.0.0"

I'm also having this same issue. Happens with any bluetooth headphones I have. Namely my Airpod Pro 2s.

Same problem here.

MacBook Pro M2 Max Sonoma 14.4.1 App v1.8.7 / Driver v2.5.3 / UI v5.0.8

Using it mainly with my AirPods Pro 2 and have only had issues with it, perhaps because it's my last used device most of the time. Disconnecting my AirPods stops the UI from hanging but upon reconnect it hangs again. Force killing all related processes using the Activity Monitor doesn't help but restarting the laptop does.

If you use AirPods, try it this way. Place the AirPods Order at the top of the Output Settings. And check Force Built-in Microphone.
