Cursr available via Flatpak

I use Linux and currently Cursr is the only app on my system I cannot automatically update with a package manager.

Flatpak is the best and most widely adopted platform-agnostic sandboxed package manager among different distributions.

I did see your note about Snap, but that is exclusive to Ubuntu and Ubuntu-based distributions, and is not ideal for other reasons that I won't get into. I (and many others) can't and won't be using Snap, so I'd still like a way to automate updates.

Flatpak is, however, installed by default on many Ubuntu-based distributions and can easily be installed on the ones it's not on by default. It is also default on many non-Ubuntu-based distributions as well.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I don't spend much time on Linux and it's minority of Cursr user base (which I'm planning to work on increasing) so I may not be aware of many details like this and depend on other Linux users to let me know what's in-demand Linux related.

I'll look into this sometime soon and will provide an update on when this can be expected.

You're welcome! I realize a minority is on Linux so hopefully it isn't too much trouble to make it start auto-deploying. I will say that Cursr is the ONLY currently working solution on many distributions for multiple monitors of varying sizes, resolutions and pixel densities. So while we're the minority, you are the only option we have other than suffering through teleporting cursors. I really appreciate your Linux support!

Coming back to this as I don't actually use flatpak anymore, I use arch so the AUR would be my go-to solution, though I have taken to automating the download of the .appimage from github to auto-update the app (though I can't use it anymore anyway because I'm on wayland now haha). But I say that because despite me not using flatpak anymore, I still think it's the best way to distribute it to the largest amount of linux users with as little effort as possible, and I want to re-emphasize that this is still needed. Even arch users can choose to use flatpak, but the majority of popular distros use it by default.

Ultimately you could choose to distribute it many more ways too, but I think something I should have mentioned in my first post is that I've found linux users are generally less willing to download an application from "some random website" like is the norm in Windows. Github is better, but it's still not a built-in source like linux users are used to. Currently, this app is the only application I have that is downloaded from a website and not flatpak or a repository. I think it would help boost Cursr on the radar if it was easily accessible to linux users one way or another.
