Allen&Heath QU Series (QU-5, QU-6, QU-7)

Open eliotttb opened this issue 6 months ago • 3 comments

Hey Bitfocus Team,

Currently working as a broadcast integrator, we are using one of the latest Allen&Heath audio mixer to date from the QU-series that is not included in the already developped driver yet. It is the new QU-5 as the manuals are attached. It seems to work on the same midi protocol but is not behaving as expected when selecting the QU-16 model to try.

Is there a temporary solution i could try ? Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Regards, Eliott.B

This looks to already exist: https://github.com/bitfocus/companion-module-allenheath-qu

You should probably raise the issue in that module, as you want another mixer added/tweaked in that module.

@peternewman that module is for the older QU series (recently rebranded as "QU Classic", referring to models QU16, QU24, and QU32). Allen & Heath has recently announced a new lineup of QU mixers (QU-5, QU-6. and QU-7), that apparently do not use the same midi protocols.

Apologies, the protocol does indeed look very different.

In the interim @eliotttb (and others) you could try the generic MIDI module and hand-craft commands: https://github.com/bitfocus/companion-module-generic-midi
