Fediverse: allow multiple profiles (in config user)

Open Mikaela opened this issue 6 years ago • 2 comments

I think it's common that users in the Fediverse have multiple accounts.

Personally I have loose distinguishing of having one for politics on mastodon.partipirate.org and a misc account on social.libre.fi (which is a Pleroma though) and Hubzilla.

I think that when Bitbot is checking for toots, it could announce the one with the most recent timestamp unless otherwise specified e.g. by domain name.

the only issue I have with this is that the process to "get latest toot" is 4 to 7 HTTP requests - and that can take a long time. I guess the fedi module could be ripe for being one of the first async-ified modules?

Earlier suggestion from IRC: How about pointing !config u fediverse into a json file containing information of the multiple Fediverse accounts?

Personal status update: I don't think this would make me use Fediverse any more than I currently do and I am considering deleting my accounts. https://github.com/Mikaela/mikaela.github.io/issues/173
