Canonical associations for 'has participant' and 'actively involved in'

Open sierra-moxon opened this issue 2 years ago • 1 comments

Text mining provider would like to use 'has participant' and 'actively involved in' predicates (because they are canonical) to make gene-to-goterm associations.

Two issues to resolve:

  1. This might be a use case for canonical associations, however. While gene-to-go-term-association doesn't specify the usage of a particular predicate at the moment, 'has participant' would be incorrect to use in this association if the subject was a gene.

  2. 'participates in' is a non-canonical predicate, but is also the parent of other canonical predicates.

@mikebada - does our examination of the direct/indirect interaction predicates and their inclusion in 3.0 satisfy this use case? Would a documentation example of how to use qualifiers help?
