Updates?
We'd love to update the app again. In particular, we're planning to add markdown support to the Android app.
However, things have been working just fine, so there isn't much urgency to update things. And, Google updated APIs and change permission requirements, so updating will be difficult and time-consuming. But we don't have a whole lot of time these days with work and family, so things haven't moved along recently.
Like I said, though, the app and ntfy server work great, despite the infrequent updates. If you're desperate for specific features, you're welcome to submit a PR and try to help move things along!

it's just that markdown already has a PR (by the main repo holder?). The app works great and is usable, and it's amazing it's free, including the app. Markdown would really add a lot. In case there's a way to donate to speed up this specific thing, please reply with a link
Markdown support would be great to have, would love to see the above PR getting merged soon! Apart from that, thanks a lot for this whole project 🙌.
Another push for markdown. it would be great to have links in android app look cleaner with markdown support.

You can join the Google Play beta to upgrade to 1.17.8 (in testing!!) or manually install the .apk file from https://github.com/binwiederhier/ntfy-android/releases/tag/v1.17.8/:

Please test
- that things don't crash
- that instant delivery reconnects fine in the background when connection to your server is disconnected (e.g. disable WiFi)
