Two different type of attachment exports
This is a great plugin - thank you for writing it.
A bit short on the documentation side (and the only real docs are the gif which is way to fast too be visible to mere mortals).
The main issue baffling me is that when I export a whole folder of stuff to markdown and I have a bunch of attachments as wikilinks [[dsfdsfds.jpg]] and I have the following settings (all at original defaults)
- Encode file name = Off
- set attachment path relative = On
- Convert Wikilinks to Markdown Links = Off
Then some of the attachment links (about half) are exported with their original name and in a folder "attachments" and are as wikilinks
and the other half are exported with changed names e.g 02fb6aa80be454d22bffb5ca5d55727e to folder "attachment" and those are all linked in the form
I cannot for the life of me work out why the different treatment of different attachments.... (and I'd prefer none of them to have the names encoded)
Edit: I have now worked out that the attachments transferred as wikilinks to folder attachmentS were originally in folder attachmentS under the exported folder. The ones obfuscated, sent to /attachment/ and also turned into markdown links with an absolute path were originally elsewhere in the vault.
This behaviour is not entirely logical to me, and does not obey any of the three directives in the settings
Surely all attachments should go to the (single) folder specified in the settings and each should adhere to the settings directives regardless of where originally located.
To make it even more confusing (to me) if I flip the single setting "Convert Wikilinks to Markdown" to ON Then a) None of the attachments are filename-encoded b) They still go into two separate folders c) The links are markdown links
I know I am missing something given the two separate settings for "Attachment Path" and "Custom attachment path" which I cannot understand. Maybe all it needs is a few lines of documentation.
Edit 2: To add a further layer on confusion, the files that remain in the folder "attachments" are not copied across unchanged. Each of the attachments (pdf, png, jpg) is corrupted. The files that were originally elsewhere in the vault are not corrupted. Why is it acting on the attachments at all??
