Trying to use M8P as canbus, but it seems that canbus firmware overwrites the M8P firmware each time, followed a guide to fix it, but it is no longer working

Currently struggling with the canbus output on the M8P. At this point, I am planning on getting a U2C and using the M8P as just the main board. Whenever I follow the guide, it seems like the Canbus Klipper firmware overwrites the firmware for the board itself, turning it into just a giant U2C board. I followed this guide to fix it, and it would work until I flashed the canbus firmwares as per the BTT github guide, and then my config file would no longer work until I fixed it with the bootloader guide. Now it's not working at all. Is my board bricked? Do I contact BTT? Did anyone else have this issue and work through it?
