curl: (35) error::SSL routines:ssl3_get_record:wrong version number

When trying to install bigbluebutton, in a virtual machine with ubuntu 20.04 operating system, with the file sh: wget -qO- https://ubuntu.bigbluebutton.org/bbb-install-2.6.sh | sudo bash -s -- -v focal-260 -s {mydomain} -e {email} -g -w

I get the following error: curl: (35) error:1408F10B:SSL routines:ssl3_get_record:wrong version number

I have been searching for days and I am unable to find the solution. Any suggestions?
