bibletime
BT 3.0.0 RC1 opens FinBible with wrong charset
When I open a finnish bible FinBible in BibleTime 3.0.0 RC1 it has scandinavic ae letter as black square. Other 4 finnish bibles texts are ok. And BibleTime 2.11.1 opens the FinBible ok and right charset.
I use Kubuntu 18.04. BibleTime 3.0 RC1 installed with snap.
When I change BT 3.0 Settings Fonts to finnish it does not affect to open bible windowses.
Make sure you checked the checkbox to enable changing the font. I was able to use the padauk font which is in the fonts-sil-padauk package on ubuntu. With this font, the FinBible looked Ok to me.
There is no font information in the various modules so BibleTime cannot autoatically choose a font. It is up to the user to do this.

I have selected use own font and the font is Padauk. Still black squares in text. I think that BT opens that work with wrong charset or amount of bits are not correct or so. The other finnish bibles work ok.

I think this is an issue with the module or Sword instead. It shows incorrectly in Xiphos as well. When I removed the Encocding=UTF-8 line from ~/.sword/mods.d/finbiblia.conf it does not seem to have this issue. I will try to contact upstream on the sword-devel mailing list.

Does BT 2.11.1 use Sword same in the same way than BT 3.0.0 RC1 ? When I open FinBiblia, BT 2.11.1 opens it in valid characters. No problem. And BT 3.0.0 RC1 have black squares in text.

Using BibleTime 2.11.2 installed by apt, I see the same character set issues as I do in 3.0-rc1. I don't believe there was a snap for 2.11.1.
I installed BT 2.11.1 from Kubuntu repository with apt-get.

A new release of finbiblia was just updated in the crosswire beta repo. And probably a new one again in the next days. Please try, it should be OK.

No not a new release of bibletime, but a new release of the in the module manager, as if you have to install a bible.
Snap doesn't find that package.

No link with the snap package! it's a module issue, and the update of the finbibiblia is currently in the crosswire beta repository. Please look in your module manager.

I looked ~/.sword/mods.d/finbiblia.conf and finpr92.conf. The first one finbiblia.conf don't have encoding line. The other finpr92.conf have. And FinPR don't have encoding in conf file and that looks ok in BT 3.0.0.

So, I think that maybe BT 2.11.1 works ok with it and BT 3.0.0 RC1 don't. Can I add that line to finbiblia.conf file? And I have to inform Sword that there is a bug in the text. I think that FinBiblia is seldom used bible, because it's so old. I have seen in that book some typos too.
When I added Encoding to finbiblia.conf the BT 2.11.1 showed black squares too! And I removed the line from finbiblia.conf and started again BT 2.11.1. The texts were ok again. So, I think that it is question of charset.
But does BT 3.0.0 RC1 have different Sword configuration folder than BT 2.11.1 in folder ~/.sword/mods.d/ ? When I have both BT 2.11.1 and BT 3.0.0 running the bookshelfs are different. One contains different books and BT 3.0.0 different and it was empty after installation.
I think you are using the snap. They have a different location for their HOME dir. $HOME/snap/bibletime/current. You will find .bibletime and .sword is this directory.
There was $HOME/snap/ folder and there bibletime and sword. Bibletime has sub directories 6, common and current, which is symbolic link to 6. In sword directory is a broken symbolic link to 29. I think that broken is because there is no directory 29.
I think that BT 3.0.0 does not work with those directories. There are nothin. Even if the BT 3.0.0 is running.
