Correct, this is because normally the meta data is in the feed. I've never tried pulling any metadata out of the mp3 (on Android). Is there a library to help...
On a related note, I added timeouts to the downloading... waiting for connection will wait 30 seconds, waiting for data on a read will wait 20 seconds...
