Not working with directories under ~/.local/share/applications

Hello, I tried to install qOverview. I followed the steps provided on GitHub. When I started qoverview-config-server, I was told: "IsADIrectoryError: [Errno 21] Is a directory: '~/.local/share/applications/wine' so config server did not start, therefore I could not start qOverview. I have directories under the aforementioned directory, such as wine and chrome. Why are app subdirectories problematic?

Sorry. It has a trivial fix, but I'm travelling at the moment so I'll only be able to do it tomorrow or the day after.
