Macports has the latest libarchive, vcpkg (is that used for Windows?) has 3.7.2 currently.

Okay. There is a copy of the Macports port in the buildosx tree, that is why I have mentioned it. Where does the Windows libarchive build come from?

@t-8ch You probably want to fix this to keep Elbe building with Debian trixie.

I have just tested them all. The only file that libarchive has an issue with is 5371 Portulano Pucallpa y Cercanías: SBS_5371/PORT_PUCALLPA01.KAP: File CRC error: Invalid or incomplete multibyte or...

That was with v3.7.2. The 6 bytes are fixed with the latest 3.7.4, which has https://github.com/libarchive/libarchive/pull/2124 included. So yes, unarr can be dropped.

Generally, 3.6.0 is the first version that [supports RAR filters](https://github.com/libarchive/libarchive/pull/1503) which are needed for the Peruvian charts.

Debian trixie and sid have 3.7.4 already. That is why this can be [changed in Debian](https://bugs.debian.org/1078767) now.

You can see the original request by Alexis Puente Montiel for the experimental update in [Debian bug 1024523](https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1024523#40). I guess he handed in this version because it is in Pica...

They are not. I would have guessed you have a source distribution with the git submodules populated. Please just close this PR if that is not the case.
