placeholder in time input before user has selected a time

Hey! I really love rome for it's deep customizability. Is there a way to design the time input so that it can have placeholder text like "What time?"

Then when the user selects a time, the placeholder gets replaced with the selected time value.

Please let me know if this is currently doable within the library, or whether I will need to implement a workaround solution. Thank you!
