Betaflight Config: Stuck on "Downloading VTX tables"

Open swilkens opened this issue 7 months ago • 3 comments

Hi all,

Currently using Betaflight 4.5.2 in combination with a Radiomaster Boxer and a RadioMaster RP2 V2 ELRS Nano Receiver, running Express LRS 3.5.5.

The FC is a Mateksys 722-SE.

When starting the "Betaflight config" LUA script, it initiall goes through compilation - that seems to finish just fine. When starting the lua script a second time, the progress reaches "Downloading VTX tables" - and seems to halt there.

My quad has no VTX, the configurator mentions I can't configure VTX because it's either not connected or not configured.

I've bumped the telemetry ratio up - thinking it might be taking a while to transfer the data, but that made no difference. The LUA script stops at the same point, indicating "Downloading VTX tables".

Removing SCRIPTS/BF/VTX_TABLES/vtx_defaults.lua made no difference.

I'm with the same problem. Radiomaster GX12 edgetx 2.11.1, expresslrs 3.5.5 (tx and rx) and betaflight 4.5.2.

same boat. Either stuck at Downloading VTX tables or at Downloading Board Info. Two whoops with the same board. One connects without issue, the other one never and is always stuck.

Tested on Betaflight 4.5.1/.2 and 4.6.0. On both drones. Does not make a difference. TX16S with EdgeTx 2.11.1 and ExpressLRS 3.5.5 (on TX and all RX).

Same thing here..

Changed the baud rate for the internal CSRF to 400k Tried new SDCard Tried changing ELRS Frequency Telemetry is enabled VTX Tables are being downloaded

Nothing works. Help please

Same here - just tried it on a two Flywoo quads, with same FCs - the one with BF4.5.1 has BF LUA that works, while the one with BF4.5.2 has BF LUA script that freezes while downloading. At "Downloading board info" to be precise. And it's slow getting to that point too. Hoping someone can fix that script to work with BF4.5.2. Now, I have to use BFC to change my PIDs - like I had to do years ago. EDIT: NAAAWWWW .... No need for BFC to change profiles - just found out that the BF OSD Stick menus still work - NEAT!!! EDIT #2: regarding marcbogadi ELRS post, I had switched to Tx ELRS 3.5.5 from 3.5.2 when this started. I'd also upgraded ETX from 2.11.1 to 2.11.2. And I'd also upgraded one quad to BF4.5.2. So ... didn't know what to blame.

Managed to get it working, sadly can't fully pinpoint to what exactly did it because I tried too many things buuut

I have a hunch that going into the Model Page -> Telemetry -> Discover Sensors has somehow helped.

Same behavior here BF 4.5.1 on an AT32 FC / and STMG473 BF 4.5.2 Radiomaster Pocket/Zorro EdgeTx 2.11.2, ELRS 3.5.6 on TX/RX Stuck at "Downloading board info"

After installing the latest nightly it stuck at "Checking options..."

Okay nailed it. ELRS seems to be the bad guy. Flashing back to 3.4.3 brings back the functionality. Can someone copy that?

I added an issue https://github.com/ExpressLRS/ExpressLRS/issues/3261

@TTGG4400 Might want to double check where you posted this... this isn't the EdgeTX issue tracker ;)

Having the same issue with tbs tracer, so probably not related to rx protocol. launching the script again an arbitrary number of times seems to "fix" it. I think we'll have to look for changes in the BF firmware that could cause this. Have any of you tried reverting to older BF firmwares?
