pybertini documentation cannot be compiled through tex

here is a sample error message i get when compiling the pybertini documentation (make pdflatex)

(INPUTENC)                NOT SET UP FOR USE WITH LATEX.

since i value the emoji more than the latex docs, this is a low priority for me.
