Since Railcraft isn't updated to 1.12 plus is very broken i would love to have a cart-linking mod for 1.12.

Can you make the same issue ticket there? I can do it for you too. To answer: yes it should probably be supported. I thought it was already supported, but maybe forge support died in the updating spree.

This is only possible with a full rewrite and that is not gonna happen. Sorry.

Ohh alright. Yeah in 2016 I wasnt as much involved in the development of the plugin as I was busy finishing my study. I dont think they fully understood what forge support meant. Forge has a remapper for NMS which makes support less hard than it seems. Its not trivial but also not impossible. After all, it supports forge for 1.7.10. I will look into it once the current version of TrainCarts/BKCommonLib is ready for release and I can start working on more experimental changes.
