As of the last update, trying to import schedules into Madden 20 franchises will cause crashes, regardless of when it happens. This is, I think, because the last version also works with M21, and they handle schedules differently (since there's an extra wildcard game, etc).

I think you're right about the extra game. M22 will cause even more problems with the other extra regular season game too :(
