$ immediately proceeding markdown table causes pdf and word exports to have unformatted text instead of the table

My question is about table encoding within a document. We recently exported a completed project that has several tables. When reviewing the exported PDF, I noticed that some tables appeared correctly and some did not. I'm revising and re-exporting but haven't hit on a solution yet.

The sample with which I am working is from our "First Treasurer's Book, 1833-1834" project, page_0013.

The table presents paragraph style in PDF and Word exports. I wonder if there is a revision I could make to help tables export consistently? HTML seems to maintain the format but we don't want to publish all the edit histories / metadata that comes along with that.

I was able to fix it by removing a $ that immediately preceeded the table markdown.
