Transcriber feature to put a box around individual letters to make comparisons

A transcriber requested a feature that would let her put a box around individual letters, capture a translucent image, and then hover the image over other letters in the document (including other pages, if any) and make comparisons. She also added that she would then want to be able to adjust the size of the letter in the box to match the comparison example.

We told her we're starting to see suggestions in that direction -- a paleography educator at the NHPRC (we think she both works there and teaches classes) asked about line level version comparison last month; and there's a Yiddish automatic handwritten text recognition project that is drawing squares around words on images in order to point volunteers to things that need help/attention.
