[Mapping Bezier Curve] OSC value jumps when it shouldn't

Open imklif opened this issue 3 years ago • 5 comments

OSX 10.14.6. 2.97 Intel core i7, 2017. Touchbar 15-inch Macbook Pro Chataigne 1.9.6 and beta 1.9.7b10

I get a sudden jump in OSC value on track named ZOOM at exactly 5:18:400. The bug is consistent and reproduces at the exactly same time.

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Load the attached file
  2. Go to 5:18:400
  3. move frame forward and backward on timeline
  4. dip is visible both on the track and on the inspector on all instances

When dragging blue square above timeline (to zoom in and out of the timeline) the single frame value jump is clearly visible on the track timeline, but it dissapears instantly once i stop moving the cursor.

Adding smooth filter on the track doesn't solve the issue.

Interesting. It seems to be a very special case with this configuration : if you move slightly the bezier handle, the spike disappears. So I guess it's not blocking, but I can reproduce the error so I'll check what's going on, it may reveal a more problematic behaviour

Hi, Thank you for the quick reply :)

Moving handles didn't fix it for me - it just moved spike to different time :)

BTW, really great software, thank you for that!

I saw the problem, it's on the uniformLUT creation, but I lack time to debug it all the way.. i'm pretty sure it's a special case where X axis projection is subject to approximation error. You can also try having a key in the middle. I'm pretty sure you can find a workaround by fiddling around, that's not the best solution but that's the best I can give you right now :)
