More persistency for the app

My phone (Nexus 5) often kills the app for resource management. It's a real problem with Pokemon go demanding a lot from my aging phone. It all but defeats the purpose of the overlay because I have to restart it every several minutes.

Other apps like Tasker achieve protection from being killed by posting a persistent notification. Could you implement this as an option?
